As part of the move out process, it is our policy to have every vacating residents sign an official Intent to Vacate document, which will be sent via DocuSign. We will also provide you with a copy of our cleaning checklist, which will help you obtain a fuller security deposit with your security deposit disposition, which will be mailed to you 30 days after you vacate and return your keys to Nestwell.
There are other steps involved in moving out between the signing of the Intent to Vacate form and the day you receive your final disposition. They are set for specific times during the month you listed with your move out date.
Within the first 10 days of the month listed, the leasing agent responsible for your unit will be contacting you to set up an appointment where they will come and take pictures of the home to help prepare it for marketing.
A pre-move out evaluation will be done on your home. Any damages or further cleaning will be noted for you to repair, clean, or otherwise correct before you move out. In addition to the items in the cleaning checklist, there are some routine maintenance items tenants are responsible for that the evaluator will be looking for.
After you've made any adjustments noted in the pre-move out evaluation and are ready to vacate the premises, you are welcome to leave your house keys, mail keys, remotes, HOA key fobs, etc. on the kitchen counter for the maintenance team to pick up when they begin their work, or you can bring them to our office at 8813 S. Redwood Road Suite D1 West Jordan, UT 84088.
A final move-out evaluation will be scheduled once you've completely vacated the premises. A final move out report will be sent to you within 24 hours for you to review and to make any adjustments on to ensure you receive a fuller security deposit. If items are not addressed by the last day of the month you may not return to address them the following month. At that time, Nestwell will then hire third-party vendors to complete any cleaning, repairs, or other items, so it's important to do everything you can do prior to the last day of the month.
The last month's rent will be pro-rated for the days you reside in the property or until the end of the current lease agreement. Note: After the last day of the pro-rated amount passes, the system will automatically post the charges for the remainder of the month on your ledger as well as a month-to-month fee. If you moved out as scheduled, you can disregard these charges. They will be removed when we work your security deposit disposition.
Your final disposition will be mailed via USPS 30 days after you have completely vacated the premises. Please reply to this email with your forwarding address. You may also enter that information online via the Resident Portal.
